Merton A lift the Times and Directory Cup

 

 

The final of the annual Times and Directory Handicap Cup held at the “neutral” territory of Winton YMCA on Wednesday 23rd April was an enthralling all-premier affair between Merton A (Jonas Mucha, Mark Smith and Mark Butler) and Ringwood A (Pete Childs, Brian Vibert and Matthew Haynes).

 

Ringwood went into an early 3-1 lead helped by a brace from Peter Childs and looked confident of victory. However, Merton fought back strongly to take the next 4 matches to run out 5-3 winners on the night, thanks to an excellent hat-trick from Mark Butler and one apiece from Jonas Mucha and Mark Smith.
